About Mari, Jyri and Kilda
The past, the present and the future
We met each other in 2004 when we started our studies in Tampere at TTVO. While Mari learned to photoshop and illustrate, Jyri focused on designing websites. We moved to Helsinki in 2011. Mari started her masters in Aalto Media Lab and Jyri worked as a freelancer, expanding his design focus slowly from websites to graphic identities and printed materials.
In 2014, we started our very own graphic design studio and named it Kilda. We have a cozy office with an excessive amount of indoor plants, located in Alppila near Linnanmäki. With experience of designing identities, websites, illustrations, books, mobile applications, infographics, animations and all sorts of printed materials, we consider ourselves to be multidisciplinary in the very sense of the word.
We don't plan to make Kilda bigger – only better. We are passioned about projects and clients that are working to tackle the climate crisis in various fields. If that is what you do, we'd love to hear from you.
Working the Kilda way
We pride ourselves on the fact that we are easy to work with. Go ahead, ask anyone!
Despite being just a two-person company, we can cater to a wide range of visual needs – from identities to illustrations, from simple animations to websites, from physical books to digital user interfaces. We are not just the pretty faces of our company either, we do the actual work ourselves. We can also promise that we are not going anywhere: Kilda is a family business and here to stay.
Sustainability guides our everyday life and decision-making. We are especially interested in projects dealing with climate change. Kilda's investment portfolio is built with a very strong emphasis on sustainability and at the end of the fiscal year, 1% of our yearly revenue is donated to an NGO working with issues related to climate change (this year we selected Luonnonperintösäätiö and last year BirdLife Suomi).
If you want to get to know us a little better or if you're looking for fresh new pairs of eyes and hands to help with your visual needs, do not hesitate to contact us.
